Sobre "I Walk The Line", de Johnny Cash

El escrito de mi entrañable amigo Jorge Alonso, sobre la vida de Johnny Cash me pareció brillante. Yo quisiera agregar unas palabras, con respecto a este monumental
cantante. De los artistas de primera línea, Cash es de los que hace más años me acompañan, excepción hecha solamente por Marty Robbins. Cash comenzó a cantar con éxito en 1956 y ya en 1957 yo era poseedor de uno de sus primeros Hits, que se llamaba "All Over Again" y que lamentablemente no es cantada en la película. El film me gustó mucho, obviamente el agregado subjetivo de ver la historia de un hombre que me acompañó casi 50 años, tuvo importante gravitación. Curiosa experiencia la mía. Al oírse en cualquier ámbito, temas de los más variados géneros, en muchísimas oportunidades toda la gente presente, canta y festeja dicho tema, mientras tanto yo al lado, permanezco impávido, ya que desconozco el tema en cuestión. Ahora en oportunidad de ver Johnny y June la ecuación estuvo invertida. Mientras todos los espectadores permanecían callado s e imperturbables, yoconocía y gozaba de absolutamente todos los temas reproducidos en el film. Mi hija que me acompañaba trataba infructuosamente que cantara mas bajo, pero la emoción me superaba. El agregado al título de "Pasión y Locura" me parece un despropósito. En España se la conoció con el nombre de "En la cuerda floja" título mas feliz que la acepción argentina. El tema que dá título al film "I Walk the Line" tuvo gran cantidad de versiones. Tengo muchas anécdotas respecto a Johnny Cash. Contaré solamente una y dejaré el resto para otras oportunidades. En una ocación caminando por nuestra ciudad, y siempre ávido de conseguir nuevo material country, ingresó a la galería Belgrano sobre la Avenida Cabildo y me dirijo a la disquería Suite que aún existe, pero con poca dedicación con respecto a nuestro rubro. En aquella oportunidad, pregunto si habían recibido algún material nuevo, a lo que el vendedor me responde: -Tuvo suerte, hoy ingresaron todos estos discos. Inmediatamente despliega ante mis ojos una gran cantidad de placas, de las cuales 18 eran flamantes L.P.'s importados, de Johnny Cash, uno mas fantástico que el otro, envueltos en ese inconfundible celófan que le imprimía tanta belleza a los sobres de las placas de aquel entonces. Los adquirí a todos y hoy engalanan mi orgullosa colección. Corría el año 1978. Al que quiera verlos y escucharlos, comunicarse conmigo.
