The presentation of the second edition of the Festival will
take place on August 27
39 bands will be present at the II San Pedro Country Music
Festival
The organization of the second edition of the San Pedro Country
Music Festival is heading for the fulfillment of a new two
day party in which 39 bands from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay,
Brazil, Peru and Mexico will share the stage. The effects
of what took place in 2003 due to the event organized by country2.com
that was supported by the Town Hall will be remembered with
the arrival of more than 250 entertainers who will offer a
22 hour show. The official launching will take place on August
27 in the gardens of The Radio.
Once again, with free admission, San Pedro shall be, on September's
last weekend, the capital city of country music in Argentina.
San Pedro is called Saint Petersville by those that belong
to this great artistic revolution that got started after the
creation of the website country2.com (made in San Pedro).
It is even possible to listen in the Internet a song that
was dedicated to the festival and to this city, written by
Presumidos, a band from Bahía Blanca.
The second edition of the San Pedro Country Music Festival
is widely supported by San Pedro's Town Hall that accepted
this proposal as a celebration in the city. The Town Hall
is willing to include the festival in the tourism calendar
since it is an event that was and will be attended by a great
amount of visitors that will come to San Pedro with only one
aim in mind but who will also visit the city and may come
back just to rest or go for a walk.
The place chosen for this party is the Anfiteatro del Vía
Crucis. Even though its capacity may not be big enough for
this kind of party, the top priority was the decision to offer
a place with free admission for everybody and with a scenery
that became famous around the world due to the international
importance that this festival gained.
From the artistic point of view, we can mention that many
of the bands present in the last year edition and many more
that joined country2.com since then, will be present on September
25 and 26.
There will be 39 shows in all. These shows will start at
noon on Saturday and will finish at 11 pm. approximately and
on Sunday they will start at 10.30 am. and finish at 10:30
pm. approximately.
Those that confirmed their presence are: bands from different
cities in Argentina, two important and famous bands from Mexico,
a band from Peru that performs "bluegrass music",
a band from Uruguay, a duet from Chile that was present in
2003, and the band "Pure Country" from Brazil, whose
lead singer was present in San Pedro last year and who received
an award in Nashville (country music capital city) for being
one of the best foreign country music bands.
The official presentation of the festival, opened for the
general public, will take place on August 27 in the gardens
of The Radio. Some of the bands that will present their music
in II San Pedro Country Music Festival (free entrance for
San Pedro folks and tourists) a month later, will also perform
during this event.

All of us are waiting to meet again …
During the month of June, those of us who are a part of country2.com
are fully devoted to the organization of San Pedro Country
Music Festival second edition.
June 6 was the deadline for bands and singers, related to
our web-site, to confirm their interest in participating in
the Festival. During the rest of this month, we will define
the conditions in which the organizers will invite them to
this event.
According to what we mentioned in other sections of www.country2.com,
this is not a festival with commercial purposes; in fact,
not many people can earn a living by playing country music.
The resources for a party that is growing more and more,
come from the contributions made by San Pedro municipal government
(that also supports other cultural events during the year)
and from companies and businessmen who make their contribution
and support us.
The Festival is free for people and it will represent this
year a new boost for the "movement" that is trying
to take place around this music. The entertainers who accept
to participate will also invest their talent, their time and
those needs that the organizers cannot meet due to the great
importance of this event.
The second edition of this party will put to the test the
will of those that held the event in San Pedro as a unique
party or as a remembrance of the past.
In the same manner we provided information about the bands
that enrolled within the announced deadline (see the list
at the end of this text), the program for Saturday 25 and
Sunday 26 of the month of September will be ready on July
1st.
As of that moment, we will start the publicity of the event
in different levels and all the bands may announce their participation
in the Festival since they will be informed about the day
and time of their show.
San Pedro Country Festival is an artistic event that is growing
with the effort of those that feel they have to be present
there. Entertainers from other parts of the world, as well
as Argentine bands, who understand the importance of an annual
party devoted to country music in this remote part of the
planet will also be present during the 2004 edition of this
Festival.
There will be country music, bluegrass, rockabilly, swing,
folk and much more.
There will be a party and only those that want to have a
good time without ties or any style complex may be present
at a party.
The invitation is made and the expectation keeps growing
each day.
On July 1st., we will know who understands the reasons for
our effort and the purpose of a popular festival that will
take place during Spring's first weekend.
